VV Minerals Observed Environmental Consciousness

VV Minerals is a privately owned company which was set up in the year 1989. The company is a family grown business and the chairman of the company is Mr. S. Vaikundarajan. It is one of the top most heavy mineral mining companies in the country as well as worldwide. The company manufacture minerals like zircon, rutile, ilmenite and garnet.

As we all know the process of heavy mineral mining affects the environment in many ways. Hence in order of destroying the environment, VV Minerals works in an eco-friendly manner which adds on to why they are the best in the business. The company carries out their activities in a way where neither there is any harm to the environment nor to the individuals within the mining area. They use methods like water conservation, power generation, afforestation and many others which benefit the environment.

This can be seen in the example below. VV Minerals, India carry out their mining activities on land that is not owned by them but on land which is leased out by the government. This land, once the mining activities are done is restored with green vegetation which helps the land become fertile and also increases the prosperity of greenery. Also in places where they extract mineral sands manually that land is reinstated with silica particles which helps in the prevention of land depreciation.

Adding to this VV Mineral, Vaikundarajan also participate in programs that involve conservation of resources and the environment and sometimes also initiate such programs. VV Minerals use sea water concentration plants to save fresh water. Sometimes they also use wind in order to generate power through wind turbines. So we see here how VV Minerals care about the environment and help in making India a clean and green nation.

VV Minerals Not Involved In Illegal Beach Sand Mining In TN

VV-Minerals-IndiaThese accusations by Shivani Chaturvedi are baseless and require further scrutiny as to its purpose. As per the letter, VV Mineral has been conducting illegal mining and is unduly favoured by the government. It goes on to state that the company has looted the state.

Rivals claim that VV Mineral has been favoured by government authorities. They say that the company receives mining lease within 72 days, while they have to wait for permission. These accusations even call Mr Vaikundarajan, the owner of VV Minerals as the head of the sand mafia, who is running the show.

All of this is a lie.

It is true that the company has been working for more than two decades in Tamil Nadu, but that only proves its ethical business practices and smart economical policies. As for getting leases within 72 days, is that we have a good team that provides timely documents to government authorities.

These accusation lead to a FIR charged against the company and its members. However, the probe revealed that VV Mineral was not guilty of any illegal activity and all charges made against them turned out to be false.

Private Firms Should Be Given Permission To Extract Monazite, VV Minerals Vaikundarajan Subramanian

Vaikundarajan-SubramanianMr. Vaikundarajan Subramanian, VV Minerals Managing Director, recently discussed about private players having appropriate funds and infrastructural assets to be a part of the monazite mining. The government does not allow private firms to mine monazite as it is a rare mineral. If the government did allow private players to extract monazite the precious mineral will not be so easily wasted.

Monazite is a radioactive mineral easily found in the southern coast but not used by the miners in India. This mineral, is only extracted by government mining agencies like the Indian Rare Earths Limited (IREL). The commercial importance of Monazite is much higher than the other heavy minerals found in this area.

As the Indian Government has strict regulations against private companies from participating in the Monazite industry, there is little scope for the industry to grow. Added to that, lack of funds from the government, mining firms from the government lack any impetus to explore mining expansion plans. On the other hand, even with the necessary funds available are not permitted to contribute.

Due to an industry shut down since 2012, the country has lost forex amounting to Rs. 10,000 crore. Mr Subramanian would also speak about the 10% export duty on heavy mineral mining levied on Indian mining companies. Such taxes affect the bottom line of mineral producers in India.  On a world stage, countries with lower export duties are able to flourish more.

In the last few months, aside from the baseless implications of VV Mineral being involved in the thorium scam, another allegation flying around is the implication that the natural radioactive minerals found on the Indian southern coastline, principally in the states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, may cause cancer to the people around. This is another unfounded lie, as the minerals found do not cause excess cancer risk to people living in the area.

VV Mineral is a private mining company that is in the business of rare earth’s mining. VV Mineral’s members of the management committee include, S Jegatheesan, J Muthurajan and V Subramanian.

VV Minerals Electrifying Windmills In Tisayanvilai

VV Mineral-Mining-Wind-Mills

VV Mineral has in the last few months’ undertaken sustainable development efforts so as to protect the environment and save Mother Nature for years to come. One such initiative is the use of wind mills.

Wind turbines make use of kinetic energy to generate electricity. These machines are primarily of two types — vertical axis and horizontal axis. Wind turbines can be used to generate large amounts of electricity in wind farms. As such, VV Mineral’s have been using windmills to generate electricity.

In Tamil Nadu, VV Minerals India own 13 windmills which are located in Thenkasi and Radhapuram. Through these windmills, nearly 9 megawatt of power electricity is produced, where the power is supplied from consumption to TNEB grid.

Aside from finding cleaner and more efficient ways of generating electricity, the company is also a water conscious company. VV Mineral does not use fresh water in mining process and does not use chemicals in its concentration plants.

VV Mineral Mining , is the largest garnet exported in the country, as well as the first private company to export ilmenite. It is a family grown business started by Mr. S Vaikundarajan. Other eminent members involved in the top management of the company include Mr. J Muthurajan and Mr. V Subramanian, both holding the Managing Directors chair. The company basically deals with zircon mining, rutile mining, garnet mining and ilmenite mining.
